SAB Contradiction 488

Negative motivation
The critic has read in the Bible about a God doing wonders. Of course this doesn’t mean anything to him, simply because he denies that God exists let alone that He can do miracles. The critic has a quite roundabout way to settle his opinion by proving that the Bible is contradicting itself. Isn’t it said that Satan also can do wonders? Voila, a Bible Contradiction! But is it?

Moses
Satan can only do false wonders that cannot stand the test. Once Moses was confronted with priests who also performed miracles; they brought forward snakes with their staffs and made blood out of water. But yet, even if it were not tricks, these miracles remained powerless as Moses’ snake ate theirs and the water they made into blood didn’t take away the red water of the river Nile. Their actions were not even comparable with the great works of God, the God who created Life.

Confrontation, no contradiction
Any comparison of the “wonders” in Psalm 136:4 and those in 2 Thessalonians 2:9 is certainly cripple. The wonders in Psalm 136:4 refer to God’s creative and saving power, while the wonders in 2 Thessalonians 2:9 refer to negative powers for man: destruction and extinction.
